The Christ Mosaic was originally designed and created for the First Presbyterian Church by Patti Jacquemain in 1968 at its original location on Anacapa Street in Santa Barbara for the then Pastor Fisher. Over the intervening years the mosaic was moved to to the current location of the Church at the corner of State Street and Constance Ave. About two years ago the Church notified Patti that several mosaics had come loose and fallen to the ground, largely as a result of the mosaic being moved from one location at the church to another. Jacquemain and her team responded to the call for help and had the mosaic removed from the 15’ perch it was installed on and over the next six months was able to replace the tiles and restore the beautiful mosaic, recreating the stunning image of Christ created by Patti over 40 years ago. Today it stands proudly in a covered courtyard near the entrance to the Church Sanctuary greeting parishioners and visitors alike as they enter the church.
