WHAT IS A GICLÉE PRINT

Giclée printing is a method of art reproduction that faithfully captures the color, vibrancy, depth, and subtle detail of any original work of art.  Artists, collectors, curators, and gallery owners accept the Giclée fine art print as one of the finest methods of reproduction.

The reproduction process usually begins with a digitally prepared image of the orginal, typically a high-resolution (high quality) scan of a photographic transparency or a high-resolution photograph with a digital camera.  After color correction to match the original, proofs are made on the same paper or canvas chosen for the Giclée edition.  Once fine-tuned, the final prints are made.

The Giclée method is the most effective way to set up a limited edition of an original art work because just a single copy may be made if necessary.  Our prints may be made using high end large format injet printers on a variety of archieval fine art paper.  All materials used are of acid-free quality.  Our prints are made using from eight color archival inks with ultraviolet inhibitors to ensure the longevity of the print.  Each print has a 2"x2"x2"x3" white border, is signed and numbered by the artist, and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

CARE OF YOUR GICLÉE PRINT

If the work itself is to be handled, support the long sides of the sheet with both hands and, if possible, protect the area to be touched with folded tissue paper.  Only quality acid-free materials should come into contact with the paper.  These prints are water miscible from both sides so they should avoid exposure to any moisture.

Giclée reproductions are works of art.  They should be treated with the same care as an original.  Avoid prolonged exposure to intense illumination, direct sunlight, unfiltered fluorescent lamps, or the heat of incandescent bulbs.  They should be framed in acid-free matboard with UV filtering glass.
